Jazz, wine and hors d'oeuvres went a long way on October 2nd in raising needed funds
for a place visited often by Murrieta residents -
The Murrieta Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Murrieta Library collaborated to host the concert and reception, held in the Murrieta Public Library Garden of Verses.
The event raised funds to support the Library's service to the community, particularly its collections and programs for toddlers through adults.
Popular jazz duo, Hart and Soul, performed. Jennifer Hart, vocalist, and Llew Matthews,
pianist-
Guests included Mayor Randon Lane and City Councilman Rick Gibbs.
But it was the generosity of many community donors that gave the fundraising effort an extra cushion. According to Murrieta Library Services Director Loretta McKinney, "In addition to the fun, great food and music, the goal of raising $10,000 through this fundraiser was achieved. The event was also a way to create awareness about the two organizations that support the library, year in and year out.”
Donors included Temecula Valley Woman’s Club, Anthony’s Lounge and Ristorante, Cordelia Snow, Judy Call, Bear Creek Country Club, McDonald’s on Los Alamos Road, Commerce Bank of Temecula Valley, North County Sand and Gravel, and numerous others.
